GHI, established in 1996, is led by George Spencer.  He has more than 40 years experience covering the energy industry and founded many top newsletters including Gas Daily, U.S. Oil Week, Coal Outlook and Air Daily.  The Center for the Advancement of Energy Markets (CAEM) honored him with the Paul Revere Award for "developing insight and perspective for more than two decades of reporting on changes in energy markets" in 2004.

GHI launched GHI^markets in 2003, a free weekly e-zine chronicling ongoing efforts to open competitive wholesale and retail energy markets with in-depth analysis on why some fail while others succeed.

ghi^markets was created when the industry was in big trouble.  Professionals in our field were losing their jobs and companies were going under. Some Restructuring Today readers couldn't afford the news they had come to trust and depend on.  With ghi^markets we've created a community for those readers and others who enjoy our distinctive views and voice on emerging markets.

ghi^markets is a compilation of stories that were originally published in Restructuring Today with only minor editing. ghi^markets has thousands of subscribers.

Live Interactive Audio Conferences

GHI launched its very first live interactive audio conference in 2003 titled The Ball is in FERC's Court with FERC Chairman Pat Wood and prominent Washington energy lawyer Mike Naeve of Skadden Arps as speakers.  It was an out of the ballpark home run with 200 lines sold and over 1000 people on the call.
